Why does keurig keep shutting off




















I just tried Clinty's fix and it works for me. February 2 by Driver. I've seen your posts and the answers given! I'm thankful for you all that you found a work around and the machine is working! I'm glad it's not a power issue, and it DOES appear to be a pressure issue from what you all are saying, so congrats on finding a work around, and sorry if my suggestions caused any consternation. I'm sure that power is NOT the issue here, after all the comments and the work around you worked out, but again, I have seen where power Was the issue in many cases in the past, so it was worth mentioning.

Persistence is what will usually find the anwer to a problem, and you sir were persistent! I'm hoping that Keuring will take all your work arounds and the info from all the other people and resolve this problem once and for all!

I was using distilled water, and it was almost like the particulate in the water was so low that the coffee maker thought it was running the pump dry. I switched to tap water, and have only had the problem one time since. You have to make sure the kcup pierces through the needle at the bottom of the machine.

This is an odd answer but was the reason for mine: the needle in the tray that pierces the cup got bent and wouldn't pierce the cup.

I wasn't aware as my only clue was that the machine would power off after it started to get ready to brew. I eventually looked inside, fixed the needle, and everything works great now. The problem was that the needle on the bottom side that is supposed to puncture the K-Cup from underneath had been bent downwards a bit and was not actually puncturing the K-Cup.

I think this happened because my roommate was using one of those reusable plastic K-Cups, and the plastic material might have pushed the needle down some. I guess the Keurig must have some sort of built in safety feature that automatically shuts it off if it doesn't detect a hole punctured in the bottom of the K-Cup.
